Image quality 1
When light passes through the binoculars, it loses some of its intensity. Each lens absorbs a proportion (a few percent) of the light passing through it. With 12 optical components, the quantity absorbed becomes significant. This requires a treatment to be applied to each component to reduce the proportion absorbed. But every treatment represents a cost. And the more effective the treatment, the more expensive it is. Binoculars are therefore designed to carefully balance effectiveness and price.
Image quality 2
The binoculars have a BaK4 prism with a dielectric coating and lenses with an FBMC treatment: Full broadband multi-coated – a balanced multi-coated treatment has been applied to all surfaces for optimal light transmission. These 2 features offer a light transmission of 83% as well as good contrast and colour rendition during the day, and excellent brightness at dusk. The prism provides high-resolution details.
Waterproofing
Binoculars are nitrogen-filled to keep water out and prevent fogging up. Withstands immersion at a depth of 1 metre for 15 minutes.
Brightness and use
For animal watching enthusiasts who use their binoculars intensively, who want to see all the details of the animals they are watching, these binoculars 900 10x42 are made for wildlife watching. An excellent vision quality, a highly resistant magnesium frame, you can observe animals until dusk, a crucial and often unique moment for watching the most fearful and nocturnal animals.
Exit pupil
A human pupil varies from 2 mm to 3 mm during the day, from 4 mm to 5 mm at dusk, and from 6 mm to 7 mm in the dark. This makes it important to choose a pair of binoculars with an exit pupil that covers your entire pupil, in order to make full use of their luminosity depending on your needs. The 10x42 binoculars have a 4.2 mm exit pupil, making them well suited to being used at dusk.
Tips for those who wear glasses and sharpness adjustment
Twist up eyecups for spectacle wearers. For non-spectacle wearers, twist out the eyecups as far as they will go. For spectacle wearers, twist the eyecups down to the binocular body. To obtain a clear, sharp image of the observed animal, turn the central focusing knob to the left or right until you get a sharp image.
Adjustment of dioptre compensation
To compensate for difference in visual acuity between your eyes: Close your right eye and focus on an object about metres away using the central knob. Once the object is sharp, close the other eye and repeat the operation, this time using the dioptre correction ring located near the right eyecup. The difference between your eyes is now compensated for. You no longer need to use the dioptre correction ring.
Want to capture a memory of the scene you’re observing through your binoculars?
It’s possible! This is referred to as digiscoping. Digiscoping is the art of capturing photos of the scenes you observe through your binoculars using your smartphone. All you need is one accessory: a digiscoping adapter. You can find it in our range with the reference 8648792.
Product Reviews

My 900 series 10x42 are now unusable due to them being accidentally knocked of a small dwarf wall when tying my shoe laces. The wall was measured and it was only 10" tall. They are now over 2 years old and out of guarantee. I do not think that a repair would be cost effective. The bino's still look pretty perfect. Do I buy another pair of the same making the original cost double? I absolutely loved these binoculars but a little fall has rendered them useless. Have you watched the video? Watching the video, it makes the binoculars seem indestructible! In reality, they have a very fragile optics. Also, I cannot seem to go beyond the first page of the 143 reviews, all from Asia. I am a wildlife photographer and have just returned from Shetland after 4 weeks. The accident happened on my 3rd last day. I was very lucky that it was not at the beginning of the trip as it would have been a nightmare. Nevertheless, the 2 years I had them working were great. I have carefully carried them for countless miles from the tops of mountains, across boggy moors and many rough coastlines. The image from the 900 series is comparable to £2000 brands, believe me, I have friends with the super priced named ones and they agree! For this price, you could have a pair of 900 series with 7 spare ones! Great bino's let down by the fragile optics.
Très bonne qualité.
Belle luminosité.
Świetnie się sprawdza podczas naszych wypraw. Bez najmniejszego problemu możemy podziwiać przyrodę, zwierzęta, które wydają się być tuż obok.
