Fleshside shoes: a model with a high level of waterproofing!
This model features an MTD (Micro Tech Development) membrane, a technology patented by Aigle. But what’s behind the acronym and what does it really deliver? In practical terms, this membrane is made up of millions of micropores that are small enough not to let water through, but also large enough to let air through. With this pair, you’ll be able to walk with dry feet, while enjoying the benefits of a breathable pair of shoes.
What about durability?
Fleshside are made from full-grain leather. By definition, this is leather which, after tanning, has undergone no further modification. It is therefore used in all its thickness with the grain surface exposed (this process representing the most refined treatment for a skin). Full-grain leather combines style with durability. Combined with a front stone guard so you can tackle a few brambles on your outings, these shoes won’t let you down.
A polyurethane midsole for uncompromising comfort
It’s good to have waterproof, hard-wearing footwear for hunting or for enjoying the many activities you can do outdoors. But not feeling any pain while wearing them is even better. With their polyurethane insole, the Fleshside MTDs don’t compromise on comfort: it’s the equivalent of a soft cushion specially designed for the feet, which also supports the arch of the foot to reduce fatigue when walking.
Outsole grip: another feature that makes these shoes different
When you hunt with your dog, for example, the outings can be long. Whether in terms of time or kilometres travelled. That’s why, even in wet and muddy conditions, these shoes won’t let you down. Thanks to their rubber soles, you’ll have plenty of grip to prevent you from slipping.
Taking care of the leather: a key factor in making your pair last as long as possible
The Aigle Fleshside boots are made of full-grain leather. And the lining is assembled with a waterproof and breathable MTD membrane. That means it is vital to take good care of the leather, without damaging the membrane. Here’s our advice: first, wash your shoes with a soft sponge. Leave to dry away from heat sources such as a radiator or fireplace (this will crack the leather). Finally, use nikwax to nourish and waterproof the leather.
These boots are for all types of lowland activities where comfort while walking, waterproofing and a firm footing are required, and prove ideal in somewhat rugged terrain with the occasional bramble.
