Resistant soles for walking trails
Our hiking boots are designed for use on hiking trails. Indeed, the components of the sole and upper of our boots are selected and tested to ensure that they are as well suited as possible to hiking on soft trails (e.g. dirt paths in forests) or stony trails (rocky coastal footpaths). Road use (tarmac) may lead to premature wear on your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.
Tested for optimal durability
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
What socks should you wear with the quechua escape 500 fresh shoes?
We recommend that you choose a pair of socks made of polyamide, without cotton. Polyamide is a fibre that is specially chosen for its capacity to eliminate moisture. So when you sweat, the socks made of polyamide will eliminate any moisture. Then, your shoes will take over the task of wicking away the moisture to the outside thanks to the ventilated mesh. For this, we recommend the Newfeel WS500 Fresh socks.

Purchased this pair in March 2023 and within 5 months, the cloth area around the pinky toes have frayed to the point where there is now a visible hole. Up till now (Dec 2023), I am still wearing this pair with the affected area having been self-fixed (through sewing) more than 5 times.Kind of a joke that I have now downgraded to the cheapest pair of hiking shoes Decathlon offers and they feel like they will last much longer. Sad to say that while the rest of the shoe has been perfect (excellent and comfortable cushioning for long hikes), this issue alone will result in me not recommending this pair to anyone until Decathlon fixes what appears to be a fatal design flaw.
As usual, always a comfortable fit from the start. Smart design, only for use in the dry. One of my favourite shoes.
After wearing these shoes for a few walks, typically 30-60 minutes in length, I've decided I can't wear them at all in future. Something is causing a severe pain at the bottom of my right heel, so I'm returning.
