How it was designed...
This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc. To fulfil the anti-shock promise, we have chosen this system with a spring integrated in the screw tightening system. We then designed a handle that enables powerful and comfortable grip whatever the position: along the tube for climbs and banking terrain, with the wrist-strap for efficient pushing and on the knob for descents.
How to adjust your poles to the correct length?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To do this:- unscrew the middle section, find the length of pole you want and screw back tightly- tighten further (a half turn) if you notice your pole is collapsing- do the same with the lower sectionNever go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
Directions for use
This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between arms and legs.To be on the safe side, check before you set off and at regular intervals that your baton is locked in place by simulating heavy bumps. If you notice that your pole tends to collapse then tighten it further by a half turn.Do not put on your backpack in case of a storm.
Care tips
Proper maintenance of your baton will ensure that it functions optimally and that it lasts longer. After use, if water has penetrated the stick, remove the strands and allow to dry. If necessary, clean the dust or mud with water or a dry brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the strands. We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.
Why is the pole sold individually?
At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. First because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. Also, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.
Accessories sold separately and adapted to this model
The advantage of buying Forclaz trekking poles is that you have a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. So you can enjoy it for as long as possible.Hiking pole caps: ref. 8580865Summer baskets : ref. 8737774Winter baskets: ref. 8503857Replacement tip: ref. 8577676 or 8755646 (if new screwable version)
Product Reviews
This feature is great, however as a newbie using nordic poles it took me some time to and several YouTube videos to work out how to activate and deactivate the anti-shock device. It is really easy to do but it does not tell you how to do this. Please Decathlon could you let customers know this. Other than that I am now watching as many how to videos as I can. I wish I'd bought one of these years ago.
just used these every day for a 8 day coastal hike around Anglesey they are excellent fellow hikers i was with called them speedy sticks because they could'nt keep up with me did lose one of the rubber feet so will need to buy another set of them may be i didnt push on the pole enough
The top of the range walking pole, with multiple height adjustments mean these can be quickly assembled and taken apart for ease of transport. Wrist strap also adjustable to length, poles feel sturdy in use. One star deducted because these are sold without rubber end pieces (available for an extra £2.99): a bit weird when the £10 version is sold with them attached
