Additional Product informations

Special feature of the visor helmet

Visor helmets are extremely comfortable and practical to use. However, we recommend them for skiers who ski at moderate speed. They are less windproof than a mask, which perfectly moulds to your nose and face. If you ski very fast, air can get in and it can be unpleasant. For the best airtightness, you must lower the visor as far as it will go. If you can’t, then this helmet is not suitable for you.

Fitting

Take plenty of time to try it on properly. You should not feel any areas of discomfort in the helmet or around the visor. If you do then try another model. For people who wear glasses, try the helmet with the pair you will be wearing and open/close the visor to check that there are no sticking points.Fogging on the glasses is not caused by the helmet. There are anti-fogging treatments for glasses.

What size?

* Measure your head’s circumference in centimetres (around the middle of the forehead and just above the ears).* Choose the size that covers this measurement.Example: if you have a head circumference of 56 cm, you should try a helmet in size 55-59 cm.

Adjustment wheel

The adjustment wheel plays a key role in keeping your helmet secure. This system can be easily and precisely adjusted at any time using the easily accessible dial that you can even use with your skiing gloves. It also gives you comfort and maximum safety. Turn the dial to the right to tighten and to the left to loosen.

Abs structure

This type of structure incorporates an outer shell, made of ABS, injection moulded to withstand powerful impacts. It has a significant capacity to withstand bumps and knocks. The internal EPOS skullcap absorbs impact and collision at the time of impact. We recommend changing your ski helmet at least every 5 years unless it has sustained a significant impact in the meantime.

En 1077 standard

Standard EN 1077:2007 is a European standard that applies to helmets used for cranial protection during downhill skiing and snowboarding. This standard tests the ability to absorb shocks and resistance to penetration. There are 2 categories:- Class A: protects the top and back of the head, as well as the ears and the side of the head.- Class B: Protects the top and back of the head but does not cover the ears.

Helmet adjustment

During practice, the ski helmet must be properly fitted and adjusted:* It is essential to choose the right size.* The head circumference must be adjusted using the thumb wheel.* The chinstrap must be properly adjusted. It's a bit like the seat belt in a car: if it’s too loose, it will not perform its function and you will be less protected.

Safety

Avoid putting a thick hat under your helmet as this will move the helmet away from your head and you won't be as well protected.Opt instead for a very thin beanie or balaclava that does not affect your safety. A helmet has good insulating properties. There is often no point in adding anything else. Also, avoid adding a camera to your helmet as this can affect safety. The standard does not take into account any elements added to the helmet.

Compatibility with prescription glasses

The pleasure of skiing should be accessible to all, including those who wear prescription glasses. Wedze has designed this helmet with a visor, more practical to use than an "over glasses (OTG)" ski mask. Due to issues with glasses size, some models remain incompatible. Head to your Decathlon store to try helmets on with your glasses.

Care instructions
